Professor Rupert Wegerif, Director of Research at the University of Exeter’s School of Education and Lifelong Learning has researched and published widely in the field of learning with ICT and teaching thinking. His books, ‘Dialogic Education and Technology: Expanding the Space of Learning’ (2007, Springer), ‘Radical Encouragement’ (2006, Imaginative Minds, with Steve Williams) and ‘Thinking and Learning with ICT: Raising Achievement in Primary Classrooms’ (2004, Routledge, with Lyn Dawes) combine research on effective practice with fundamental theory to offer a coherent vision of the future of education. He is currently Pedagogical Director of the EC Argunaut project investigating new tools to support computer supported collaborative learning, lead editor of Thinking Skills and Creativity, an international journal published by Elsevier and President of the 2011 EARLI (European Association of Research on Learning and Instruction) Conference to be held at Exeter.
