Stakeholder engagement

Engagement with stakeholders is vital to ensure that the outputs of Beyond Current Horizons are of significant benefit and use.

This area of activity involves engagement with key stakeholders from policy, practitioner and industry groups, through events and one-to-one consultation, to enable their input into the project.

Activities to support engagement with stakeholders include: 

• presentations at events
• ongoing reporting to strategy groups (eg ICT Champions Group, DCSF Strategy Group)
• industry liaison through BESA seminars and visits to leading technology research labs
• presence at BETT 2009 - communicating and sharing emerging evidence and ideas
• producing a bi-monthly e-newsletter for the stakeholder network (subscribe to e-newsletter).

Alongside these activities is also a programme of public engagement, which aims to gather representative opinions from all areas of society and ensure that the research programme is shaped not only by scientific evidence, but by the values and aspirations of everyone with a stake in education.
